| Students of Big History are already making their mark in the field. | |
| Khaled Gad was a student in Fred Spier's Big History course. During the course, he wrote a paper that became the kernel of a proposal for a paper at the conference, Education Without Borders 2011, which took place in the United Arab Emirates. The website for this is at http://ewb.hct.ac.ae/ His paper was selected as one of the best 36 papers out of 700+ papers submitted, and he was therefore invited to present it at the conference. He received the award for best paper/presentation for the Economics theme! Khaled wanted to thank Fred for teaching him to look at the world from a holistic perspective. He reports that the audience "simply loved the whole "Complexity" and "Goldilocks Principle" terminology and how it was applied to the economic world." |
