HONOR CODE COMMITTEE REPORT
Parent, Student, and Faculty forums have taken place over the past 2 weeks. Ideas are being introduced and issues are being hammered out. Academics is the focus for this code. Social will follow thereafter. Draft is being completed (available on the website) and the final will be introduced next fall. The Honor Code will be separate from the Student Handbook. A suggestion was brought forth for the students to pledge to the code on a yearly basis. The code will be an evolving one.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT, DR. COOPER
Diversity Council Update
A proposal has been prepared and is currently being implemented. Currently, all diversity programs (which are different at each school) are being evaluated by the council to determine which programs work and which ones do not. The council will then choose those programs which do work and implement them district wide versus school wide. Teachers, administrators, and staff will be trained, district wide and on-site. Highlights from the proposal are as follows:
• Page 5, A box that summarizes fact finding – diversity can be defined as gender, age, social economics, etc. Basically, alienation is what children are feeling. Broad definition of diversity here in Radnor.
• Page 12, How are you going to implement this proposal? Structures are set in place for diversity to be permanent. A District-wide Diversity Task Force and Councils made up of each school’s individual Diversity Councils.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
SCHOOL STORE
Kathy Enicks reports she has many flip flops for sale ($10). The school store is financially ahead this year over last year; a huge increase because of after school sales partially due to sport season. Sweatshirts were “by order” this year, which proved to be successful; 130 were ordered.

PARENT COUNCIL
• Freshman – No report
• Sophomore - Sophomore Parent Dinner went well.
• Junior - Larry McKenna filled in for the DJ at Junior Semi-Formal.
• Senior – They need help for Post Prom event. The theme is “Night at the Movies.”

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT, JOSEPH CANNELLA
Congratulations to Mark Schellenger for being chosen as the new Radnor High School Principal effective May 14th. The transition will begin now.
Does anybody remember Danny Miller? His family needed to move and he is coming to the prom. Money is being raised in the school to replace items stolen from Danny’s home. If you would like to donate, please give to Chris Kelly who is the senior class sponsor.
The senior prom is planned for this weekend. Two plain clothes officers and administrators will be present as well as a breath analyzer. A safe and fun environment for all is the staff’s goal. The prom is being held at the National Constitution Center, which it is federal property.
Post prom will have police and administrators present as well.
In closing, this is my final PTSA to preside over. I have enjoyed working with everyone, the good times and the bad. Thank you for all of your encouragement during these past 10 months.
