Don Caldwell and Kathy Enicks reported the school store is clearing out inventory. The school store report was approved by motion and second.
Discussion followed regarding level of sales.

STUDENT REPORTS: Dan Schwartz reported several groups have joined in a fund raiser selling wrist bands for tsunami relief and have raised approximately $4,000. The senior class is involved in Prom planning. “Hoodies” are being sold and tryouts are ongoing for the senior musical. Peter Lansinger reported the junior class had a swim/gym and lunch with the 4th grade class at Andrew Jackson elementary. Their senior Prom will be held at the New Jersey Aquarium, and the junior prom will be held April 16. SATs will be given at Radnor on March 12. PSSA’s are the first week of April.

Connor Brennan reported the sophomore class is participating in many activities with the Andrew Jackson elementary school. The semi-formal will be held in the cafeteria and a Battle of the Bands will be held as a class fundraiser. Cory Donahue reported the freshman class is collecting funds for tsunami relief, and their
semi-formal will be held this spring.

FACULTY REPORT: Ellie Doerr reported progress reports were just completed. Many faculty members are participating in “Hot topics” workshops after school. Late openings and early dismissals due to weather have been disruptive.

PARENT COUNCIL REPORTS: Lori Martin reported the freshman class is planning their semi-formal and service projects. Dues are being collected. Sarah Geary reported the sophomore class will hold Battle of the Bands on April 22. Their class has a website: www.radnor2007.com. This communication tool is
planned to also be used after the class graduates. The semi-formal is April 9 with a Pirate theme. Anne Albright reported the junior prom to be held on April 16 and has a Fiesta theme.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Debbie Gibbons-Neff reported the PTSA helped to host WinterFest which was very successful. PTSA provided monetary support for the Radnor Education Foundation Gala, the college freshman reception. A math audit was completed for surveyors. The PTSA Coordinating Council discussed
fundraisers and some coordination of efforts. The calendar was previewed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Nominating Committee: Nan Lansinger and Liz Feldman indicated a position for a co-president is open as Debbie Gibbons-Neff has agreed to be one of the co-presidents for another year. Other positions on the Executive Board will be retained by current members. Committee chairs who will do not wish to retain their
positions should survey members of their committees to determine if anyone wishes to chair the committee.

ABC House: Ellen Epps reported things are going very well at the house. Everyone in the house enjoys having families who prepare meals join them. The fund raiser was very successful.

School Board Representative: Chris Kingsberry reported recent meetings have been focused on Middle School construction. It is hoped another Act 72 community meeting will be held before the May, 2005 vote.

Drug & Alcohol Task Force: Dan Sherry reported the presentation by the Phillies pitcher was postponed due to illness. On March 30 a member of the Caron Foundation will give a presentation to junior class parents. Bev Galloway and Dan Sherry are partnering with the Middle School PTSA to interest parents in
becoming members of the Task Force as new chair persons are needed for the Task Force due to graduation. The next meeting is March 16 in the Library Conference Room.

Radnor Education Foundation: Approximately $58,000 was raised from the recent Gala. Parental assistance in grant writing is being solicited to insure that applications are equally requested from the five schools.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT: Joann Eby and Vince Citarelli attended the “Safe Schools Summit”. We are fortunate in our area for the support from our police departments and transportation departments. Procedures which need to be practiced will be reviewed. We are well-into the registration process for next school year. Guidance staff are checking that students are on track with number of credits and required courses. Joe Cannella will work on the cards during spring break and hopes to have preliminary schedules by the end of the school year. The first week of April is testing week at the high school. Discussion of lunch crowding is ongoing and options are being considered. Criteria for Honors courses are being discussed. Concern has been expressed by staff, families and students regarding activities which require students to be involved in school functions until late in the evening. There is the discussion whether to start events earlier in the evening which causes a concern for families needing to come home from work in time to arrive at school. The Guidance Department is being asked to survey how other high schools divide their student population. Radnor uses an alphabetical method. The Department is also working on improving College Information Night.
