Welcome
Bev Galloway opened the meeting at 8:05 p.m.

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of March 13, 2002 were approved by motion and second.

Treasurer's Report
The main account and school store accounts were approved by motion and second.

Student Reports
Ashley Mahady and Kristen Newitt reported on the senior class events including the upcoming Senior Prom on May 17 from 7p.m. to midnight at the Rittenhouse Hotel. Villanova University will be the location on June 9 at 6 p.m for Baccalaureate at Goodhart Hall. The awards ceremony will be held on June 10 at 7 p.m. at the High School. Graduation will be on June 13 at 6 p.m. at Villanova University. The Baltimore Harbor will be the launching point for the boat trip at 10 p.m. the night of graduation. A 5 a.m. return is anticipated. 
Stephanie Cantner reported on the upcoming Junior Prom to be held on April 27 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. She further reported on a raffle on behalf of Relay for Life.
The sophomore class had no report.
T. J. Schreck reported for the freshman class. The report included the Freshman Semi, Relay for Life and a volunteer opportunity for the Ronald McDonald House.

Faculty Representative
Ellie Doerr informed us of the annual calculator order through the school. A benefit of ordering calculators through this effort is having your name engraved on the calculator and with orders totaling 90 UPC codes the school can get a view screen. Summer reading lists were discussed and will be available shortly.

Principal's Report
Dr. Baker reported on many recent accomplishments and sources of pride for our school including the ice hockey and swim teams, HMS Pinafore, Model UN, Wrestling, Relay for Life, and the PSSA tests. Dr. Baker discussed the drug and alcohol committee and their tireless efforts on our students' behalf.  Three more students are being recommended for expulsion and there have been other issues regarding discipline for drug problems. He encouraged parents to call and talk with other parents on this subject. The National Honor Society awards will be in May. Dr. Baker praised Larry McKenna's musical. 

President's Report
Bev Galloway reported on a April 26 Safe School Summit at Sun Valley High School sponsored by the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.  She encouraged all parents to check the newsletter and the web site for important information. 

Committee Reports
Drug and Alcohol Task Force: Bev Galloway reported on the expanded link on the web site. The Junior Parent mandatory meeting sponsored by Drug and Alcohol was outstanding. April 18 will be the date of the DEA presentation and all are encouraged to attend. The next Drug and Alcohol meeting will be May 1, 2002 at 7:00 p.m.

Nominating Committee: Kris Sanders introduced the 2002-2003 PTSA Slate of Officers at follows: President: Mercedes Karel; Co-Vice Presidents: Nancy Kneeland and Craig Sullivan; Secretary: Rosemary Browne and Treasurer: Anne Peters. The vote for the slate will be at the May meeting.

Parent Councils: All parent council responsibilities will be uniform and a booklet is being prepared to set forth this data.

Post Prom: The party is totally paid for with donations to date. All information has been sent out to parents. Interested parents are invited to Conestoga High School on April 13 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. to see their in school post prom party set up.

RAP: Becca Lieb is working on a Parent Forum for RAP.

New Business
A presentation by Nancy Kneeland and Mercedes Karel discussing a need for funds and parent volunteers to make hoagies for Relay for Life was discussed. 
The consensus was 500 hoagies would suffice and funds would be accepted through the PTSA to pay for the raw materials.
The dress code was discussed and parents are encouraged to support the code.
