| RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL PTSA MARCH 13, 2002 WELCOME President Bev Galloway opened the meeting at 8:05 p.m. Rachel Cohen and Paul Townsend gave a presentation for Relay for Life. Relay for Life will be held at Radnor High School on May 10th and 11th and is open to the public. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes were corrected to read 8:10 p.m. for the time of the last PTSA meeting. The corrected minutes were approved by motion and second. TREASURER'S REPORT The main account and the school store account were approved by motion and second. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES There were no student representatives present. PRINCIPAL'S REPORT Dr. Baker reported Winterfest went well this year but the program needs enhanced to become more of a community night. The Theatre Workshop had a very successful program this year selling out all three nights for the performance in the Black Box Theatre. Upcoming items will be a Band Trip, a visit by members of Drug and Alcohol to Langley, Virginia, the PSSA testing and Relay for Life. Dr. Baker spoke about the Culminating Project and possible efforts to revamp it for next year. Dr. Baker discussed a recent expulsion and other discipline issues recently facing Radnor High School. FACULTY REPRESENTATIVE No report PRESIDENT'S REPORT Bev Galloway acknowledged efforts by the administration of the high school and praised their work. A discussion was held on the recent presentation held at Langley High School and other upcoming programs to deal with the problems of drugs and alcohol. On April 18 there will be a special presentation by a DEA agent at 7:30 p.m. at the High School. All parents are encouraged to attend with your children. Bev reported on an upcoming reunion for 250 Emotional Support students. The PTSA approved a donation of $250 by motion and second. COMMITTEE REPORTS Drug and Alcohol: The next meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on April prior to the mandatory April 3 meeting for all Junior parents whose children are planning to attend the Prom. Nominating Committee: A slate of next year's officers will be presented at the April meeting. Parent Councils: No report |
