| RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL PTSA JANUARY 9, 2002 MINUTES WELCOME Bev Galloway opened the meeting at 8:10 a.m. MINUTES The date of Winterfest was corrected to read February 13, 2001. The corrected minutes of November 14, 2001 were approved by motion and second. TREASURER'S REPORT The main account and school store account were approved by motion and second. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES There were no student representatives present. PRINCIPAL'S REPORT Dr. Baker reported that the PSSA scores were high for the current senior class. He further reported that Radnor will be getting a $57,000 grant for a combination of higher PSSA scores and improved attendance. Radnor will again be the site for Relay for Life. Dr. Baker also reported on an assembly for students regarding their behavior in the cafeteria. Dr. Baker also gave a teacher and guidance staff update. PRESIDENT'S REPORT Bev Galloway thanked Georgia Skeadas for the wonderful Staff Appreciation Dinner. Thanks were also expressed to Kathy Early and Cheryl Goodman for the successful Holiday Basket campaign. FACULTY REPRESENTATIVE The teachers wished to express their thanks for the Staff Appreciation Dinner. COMMITTEE REPORTS Drug and Alcohol Task Force: Dr. Berman of the Caron Foundation will give a presentation in the Black Box Theater. There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents of Juniors who will be attending the Junior Prom. The meeting is scheduled for April 3. Mike Green will again speak to our senior class prior to the Senior Prom. Holiday Food Baskets: Thanks were extended to Kathy Early and Cheryl Goodman for the outstanding success of this program. Post Prom Party: The committee urges parents to volunteer. Student Planners: Chris Sanders ordered 700 for next year. Winterfest: Winterfest is scheduled for February 13, 2002. ABC House: On February 2, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. a musical benefit will be held at the high school to benefit the ABC house. RHS Scholarship Fund: No report Radnor Educational Foundation: The gala is scheduled for February 8, 2002. The PTSA donation to the gala will be a lottery basket the funds for which were approved by motion and second. NEW BUSINESS A nominating committee needs to be formed to select candidates for the PTSA board for 2002-2003. The sophomore class reported successful fundraisers. $11,000 was raised for the Art Auction; $4,000 was raised for wrapping paper and over 500 carnations are being readied for Valentines Day. OLD BUSINESS The traffic study is ongoing and no decision has been made on the school flashing lights. The PTSA meeting schedule was reviewed and Bev Galloway would like feedback on the new schedule.
