RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL PTSA:  November 14, 2001

WELCOME
Bev Galloway opened the meeting at 7:35 p.m.

MINUTES
The minutes of the September 12, 2001 meeting were approved by motion and second.

TREASURER'S REPORT
The main account and school store account were approved by motion and second.

AUDIT REPORT
Kathy Early read a statement making her audit part of the record.

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dr. Baker discussed teacher supplemental positions. He also discussed sports results, band, theater workshop, the international group and thanksgiving for seniors. A discussion was held on school trips. The trip to Spain was cancelled. Trips to Quebec and the theatre trip to New York went on.  Dr. Baker gave a Radnor/LM week summary. An update on the curriculum was discussed. He also discussed conferences and gave a report on discipline.

TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE
Ellie Doerr thanked the PTSA for providing directories to the departments.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Bev Galloway thanked Anne Peters, Nancy Kneeland and Peg Kauffman and their committee for their work on the open house reception. Thanks were also given to the volunteers who scheduled guidance conferences. Bev reminded everyone to check the web site for updates.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Drug and Alcohol: There is a meeting scheduled for December 5, 2001.  The code of conduct was discussed. A mandatory meeting for junior parents is scheduled for April 3 for any juniors who plan to attend the April 27 prom.  
Holiday Food Baskets: Monday, November 19, 2001 is the delivery date for the holiday baskets.
Staff Appreciation Dinner: Georgia Skeadas is in charge of the dinner. Call Georgia if you would like to volunteer.
Winterfest: Winterfest is scheduled for February 7, 2001.

PARENT COUNCIL REPORTS
Freshman: Bev Galloway reported on the November 4, 2001 Parent Social.

Sophomore: Carol Cassidy reported on the Art Auction and offered to sell tickets. Another parent social will be scheduled for the spring.

Junior: Peg Kauffman discussed the hats, gloves, mittens and scarf collection by the Junior Class. Class rings were also discussed.  

Senior: The Post Prom Party was discussed; a Senior Semi is scheduled for January; the senior class will have a meeting in December.

BOARD REPRESENTATIVES
ABC House: No report
RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FUND: No report
REF: the Radnor Educational Foundation may fund A ROPES course.

OLD BUSINESS
School Zone Lights are still being discussed. Leo Bernabie is following up on this.

NEW BUSINESS
The current Junior Class will be affected by the new "Seal of Proficiency" notation on diplomas. Contact the guidance department for an explanation of this seal.

ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
