RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL PTSA
June 6, 2001
President Bev Galloway called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
MINUTES
Changes to the minutes included the notation that the section labeled Principal's Report should have been called President's Report. The
class of 1999-2000 funded the café tables and chairs and display cases. Under
the Drug and Alcohol report a grant was written to the REF. Under Old Business the PTSA would contribute to the purchase of a defibrillator. The amended
minutes were approved by motion and second.
TREASURER'S REPORT
The treasurer's report for the main account and the school account were approved by motion and second.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Bev Galloway discussed the defibrillators. The executive board was given
authority to fund one defibrillator by motion and second. The PTSA will contribute along with various booster clubs. The PTSA is also
sponsoring the Bea Curley Award. The PTSA scholarship will be awarded to the
student who has shown consistent improvement over four years. There is a
plaque with the PTSA president's names listed from 1982 to present. The president
listed the PTSA committees for next year and noted that all PTSA meetings for
2001-2002 will be held the first Wednesday of the month except September and January. There will be no meetings for October, December and
February. On PTSA nights there will be grade level parent council meetings from 7
p.m. to 8 p.m. followed by the 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. PTSA meetings. There will be no guest speakers at the PTSA meetings. Graduation was also discussed.
PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Graduation plans were discussed including the possibility of moving
graduation ceremonies back to the high school. Dr. Baker noted Radnor Girls
Lacrosse team won districts and were ranked first in the nation. The baseball team was runner up and the 4 x 3200 was 3rd in the state. Dr
Baker
also discussed the up coming disaster management drill.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Drug and Alcohol: Dan Sherry discussed Mike Green's presentation to seniors
before prom. Parents are encouraged to join this committee. The next drug
and alcohol meeting is scheduled for June 20 at 7 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
The new dress code was discussed. An order was placed for 700 student planners.
NEW BUSINESS
Bev discussed incorporating parents into the RAP program. Red and White Day
is June 18.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
